Final Post for the class!

This class has been extremely informative and enjoyable! I have had a great experence becoming more familar with Web 2.0 tools. I hope to incorporate these tools into my new science lab position. In the future, students need to have the opportunitiy to use these instruments during their school day.

Google Docs

What a great resource, especially because it's FREE!! How cool to be able to edit in real-time with other users.

WikiSpaces

WikiSpaces is a great collaboration tool to use with campuses and cross campuses! They are successful for holding team meetings and even PLC meetings. It would be a great area for teachers to share ideas in a central location.

Flickr

Flicker is a cool site that allows users to upload photographs, title them and even provide a caption for each one. You can create separate albums for different events and order them by date. This is a great way to allow friends and family members to see pictures without printing them out and sending them or attaching them to an e-mail and filling up their box.

I also enjoyed exploring mashups and image generators. These items allow you to take personal pictures or pictures found on the web and manipulate them. You can put your face on an animal's body or become the next American Idol Star. Have fun with
image generator.

Science Experiments

I have found numerous experiments through the Steve Spangler website that will help me in my science lab next year! This is the website for anyone who wants to view it for themselves and conduct some experiments at home!

RSS & Newsreaders

RSS & newsreaders are a great way to receive information from multiple sites in one area. This is a benefit to people who have very rigid time schedules. Rather than going out to multiple sites everything comes to one area and can be viewed. Users can subscribe to numerous feeds from a variety of genres. This gadget will be a positive addition to my personal browsing expereince.

Entering into Web 2.0

I am very familiar with technology and took this class to sharpen my blogging skills. I utilize the old Web 1.0 frequently as well as the new Web 2.0 on a daily basis. I am connected to social networking sites and connect with people around the world. Becoming more accustomed to using a blog in my personal life will carry over very easily into the classroom.

Using a blog will help me to reach a wide audience within the school to disperse messages and pass on great sites to use in the classroom.
